Thank you for visiting the Lago del Bosco blog! Our sessions for 2013 have now come to a close, but below are some highlights from Lago del Bosco this past summer:
If you are as excited for the Summer of 2014 as well are, don’t forget to register early! Sessions fill up fast, and participants who sign up before December 2nd, 2013, receive their 2014 summer program at 2013 rates.
Yesterday morning, the entire camp got a huge surprise! When we got to the trattoria in the morning, ready for breakfast, we opened the doors and there were plates of pasta, peas, and salad waiting for us! This was the beginning a backwards day for the kitchen.
At lunch, they greeted us outside of the trattoria with a sciopero, or strike, and a list of demands, such as breakfast in bed and unlimited sauna use. This was then followed by a “lunch” of cereal, bacon, and nutella.
The spettacolo for yesterday was film, but the projector ‘didn’t work’ so… we made our own films! Each casetta recreated a typical scene from their lives, such as wake up, nap time, or bed time. Complete with costumes and a lot of character acting, the scenes were hilarious!
Today it’s been another lovely sunny day, and the kids enjoyed the sauna during divertimento. Tonight’s spettacolo will be a recreation of the Aeneid, and we’re really excited to travel to Troy, Carthage, Greece, and back to Lago del Bosco.
For a few days, the avventura in the morning has offered cooking, and here are some lovely photos of the kids and some of their delicious creations. Among the things they made are strufoli, a traditional Italian Christmas dessert made by frying little balls of dough and adding honey or nutella. Here are some pictures of the kids making and enjoying their treats! Also included are some great photos of a spettacolo a couple nights back in which we put on plays with the theme of Bocaccio’s Decameron. Enjoy!

Here are some pictures of the campers doing cooking activities, sitting in their casette groups at lunch, and sitting on the beach!
Hi friends and family! Today is the Giornata Latina, and the Portuguese camp has just arrived to spend all day with us. We’ll exchange songs and dances and eat together. Since it’s Latin day, campers can speak Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese, or even Latin!
This morning, we had a maratona, or marathon. Everyone ran a total of a mile–to the gate of the village and back! We were very proud of our winners. Pictures to follow!
Last night was the discoteca, and we transformed the Scala into a disco! We had glow sticks, a ‘bar’, and a DJ who gave us a great selection of international dance music. Everyone danced and we all wished we could have stayed up all night!
Keep posted for pictures of giornata latina and yesterday!
